Biodegradable Mulches
(Benefits and Profitability)

Webinar Episode 6

We invite you to watch this webinar about “Biodegradable Mulch: Benefits and Profitability” presented by our in-house experts in mulch, Javier Pery and Sara Erlbacher.

Biodegradables are a trending topic 🔥 in agriculture so, as Uncle Sam would say, I want YOU to use Biodegradable Mulches: A webinar about the benefits and profitability related to biodegradable mulch films.

Why? Because biodegradables have the same benefits as standard polyethylene (plastic) mulch but are also soil biodegradable and compostable. This characteristic eliminates the need for collection and disposal at the end of the product’s life cycle thus also reducing the removal, recycling ♻ and landfill costs.

The most relevant features of biodegradable plastics include:
  • They don’t produce toxic waste after usage.
  • Their installation is standard procedure and does not require special machinery.
  • They don’t contain heavy metals.
Main crops currently using biodegradable plastic mulch:
  • Pepper
  • Tomato
  • Eggplant
  • Zucchini
  • Watermelon
  • Melon/ Cantaloupe
  • Lettuce, among others
  •
You'll learn:
  • Introduction to the use of biodegradable mulches. Types of crops
  • Applications
  • Lay, lift, retrieval opf Bio mulch
  • Types of Bio film: Transparent, Black, Different thicknesses and formulations Black/White, Gray,
  • Soil degradation process. EN17033 and TUV certificate
  • Case studies comparing the purchase and handling costs of conventional mulch versus Bio mulch.
At the end of the webinar there is a Q&A session where Javier and Sara answer frequently doubts about this topic.
