Agriplastics Community was created by a group of believers in plasticulture. Designed as a space to share ideas and interesting information about the use of plastics in agriculture, technology trends and more.

Why plasticulture?

We could say, without any doubt, that plastics have been the key factor in the evolution of modern agriculture during the last 30 years. How can you get two to three times more crops on less land, using half as much water when compared to traditional farming methods? Plasticulture-that’s how!

The importance of agriculture for mankind is self-explanatory. Agriculture is the backbone of the economic system of any given country. In addition to providing food and raw material, agriculture also provides employment opportunities to a very large percentage of the population

The world’s population is growing faster, and consequently so is the demand for food security. We need to use the land more efficiently, to cultivate all year-round, improve the quality of produce…. According to data from United Nations (FAO) by 2050 the world’s population will reach 10 billion people that will need an increase of 60% of current agricultural production to meet their food demand.

We are very interested in hearing from you, and together transform this website into a global community in every sense of the word, where you feel free to comment about what you’re doing with your crops, organizing your farms, what you’re using to improve your profits or talk about failures too in order to learn from the experience.
